Primary Focus & Experience

Jeffrey focuses on aircraft leasing, financing, trading, and restructuring across the Asia-Pacific region. He advises global aircraft leasing companies, financiers and investors on aircraft operating and financing leases, portfolio sales and lease novations, secured and limited recourse financings, tax-structured financings (including JOLCOs), and transactions supported by export credit agencies and credit insurers. He also advises creditors on airline related insolvencies and restructurings.

He has extensive experience advising on complex cross-border leasing and financing structures involving aircraft registered in jurisdictions across Greater China, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Jeffrey regularly advises on asset recovery strategies, rights enforcement, repossessions, and airline insolvencies and restructurings, having acted for lessors and creditors in numerous high-profile airline defaults across the region.

Jeffrey also works on aircraft trading and portfolio transactions, including large-scale sales, leasebacks, and lease novations. He has advised on acquisitions and disposals of aircraft portfolios involving leading lessors such as Avolon, SMBC Aviation Capital, CDB Aviation, AerCap, and Air Lease Corporation. His experience also includes advising on private jet acquisitions for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, leasing of electric aircraft, structuring of electric bus leasing platforms, and financings for wide-body aircraft with both equity and debt participants.

Earlier in his career, Jeffrey undertook international secondments in Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, and spent a year on client secondment to Avolon Aerospace Leasing Limited, where he acted as lead negotiator on operating leases and advised on jurisdictional risk, asset recovery, and security enforcement.
