James McClymont is a partner in the London office of Milbank LLP and a member of the firm’s Global Corporate Group.

Primary Focus & Experience

Mr. McClymont’s practice focuses on private equity transactions. He represents a broad range of private equity houses, financial sponsors, management teams and other stakeholders on corporate transactions of all types – including leveraged buyouts, minority investing, consortium deals, secondary directs, portfolio company bolt-ons and management incentivization. James has particular experience in complex shareholder arrangements and regularly advises clients across a variety of sectors and geographies.

  • Vitruvian Partners on its co-investment in CFC Underwriting alongside EQT*
  • Universal Partners and other selling shareholders on the sale of Dentex Healthcare Group*
  • Scottish Rugby on the establishment of a long-term strategic partnership between Six Nations Rugby and CVC*
  • ICG on its acquisition of the British and Irish Modern Music Institute*
  • The partners of KPMG's UK restructuring division on the spin out of the business and formation of Interpath backed by HIG*
  • The founders and controlling shareholders of Third Bridge on a significant minority investment by Astorg*
  • PA Consulting on its novel private equity-style partnership with Jacobs Engineering Group*
  • Investindustrial on its acquisition of Morgan Motors*
  • The founders of PTSG on a public to private transaction backed by Macquarie and on a subsequent investment by Warburg Pincus*
