Henry Cordova is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Milbank LLP and a member of the firm’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group.

Primary Focus & Experience

Mr. Cordova’s practice focuses on corporate, transactional and energy law. He has represented debt and equity financing parties in North American renewable energy transactions, especially those involving investment and production tax credits. Mr. Cordova joined Milbank in 2022 as a summer associate and became a full time associate in 2023. Prior to attending law school and joining Milbank, Mr. Cordova worked as a municipal finance associate at Bank of America from 2015 to 2020 where he analyzed the credit of various types of U.S. municipal entities and originated hedging products for municipal and non-profit higher-educational and healthcare entities.

Among the notable project finance matters that Mr. Cordova has handled at Milbank are:

  • representation of lenders in connection with an approximately 80MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project located in North Carolina;
  • representation of tax credit purchaser in connection with the purchase of tax credits associated with a 25MWAC/100MWh and a 20MWAC/80MWh battery energy storage project, each located in California;
  • representation of note purchasers and a letter of credit issuer in connection with the issuance of notes and a supporting letter of credit with respect to a portfolio of over 350 distributed generation solar projects with an aggregate nameplate capacity over 200 MWAC;
  • representation of lenders in connection with a $1.70 billion debt financing with respect to the approximately 550 MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project and 2,200 MWh battery energy storage system in Arizona;
  • representation of lenders in connection with an approximately $550 million debt financing for an approximately 235 MWACphotovoltaic solar energy 940 MWh battery energy storage project located in Arizona;
  • representation of investor in connection with a tax equity investment in carbon capture and sequestration facility;
  • representation of lenders in connection with the debt financing of an approximately 150 MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project and an approximately 50MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project located in Indiana;
  • representation of tax equity investor in connection with the tax equity financing of an approximately 150 MWACproject located in Arizona;
  • representation of lenders in connection with approximately $200 million credit facilities for an approximately 150 MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project located in Missouri;
  • representation of tax equity investors in connection with a tax equity investment in an approximately 200 MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project and an approximately 150 MWhbattery energy storage project located in the Texas;
  • representation of tax equity investors, in connection with a tax equity investments in a portfolio of three renewable energy wind projects located in Montana, Wyoming, Kansas and one photovoltaic solar energy/battery energy storage project located in California.
  • representation of a tax equity investor in the tax equity financing of a 600 MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project and 150MWAC/225MWh battery energy storage project in Texas; and
  • representation of a tax equity investor in connection with a tax equity investment in a 300 MWACphotovoltaic solar energy project located in New Mexico.

Mr. Cordova is a graduate of Columbia College, where he obtained B.A. in Economics and in Classics. Mr. Cordova is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
