Georgia has experience of complex commercial litigation, international arbitration and internal corporate investigations involving government agencies.
Key experience includes:
- Acting for a FTSE 100-listed private equity and investment management firm, successfully defending claims against an investment vehicle brought by a co-investor in a high-profile shareholder dispute relating to a substantial investment in the technology sector (Maloney v Falcon VII Investment SARL [2025] EWHC 240 (Comm)). Cited by The Lawyer as one of the Top 20 cases of 2025.
- Acting for Visa in Competition Appeals Tribunal proceedings in relation to alleged infringements of competition law relating to the setting and implementation of interchange fees associated with the use of debit and credit cards.
- Acting for Visa in relation to “opt-out” and “opt-in” collective proceedings in the Competition Appeal Tribunal in relation to multilateral interchange fees.
- Advising various financial institutions and other entities, including a foreign presidential office*, in relation to UK and EU sanctions against Russia.
- Acting for Fujitsu Services Limited in relation to a UK Statutory Public Inquiry arising out of the wrongful prosecution of hundreds of postal workers following the implementation of the Horizon IT system at Post Office Limited.*
- Advising SoftBank Group Corp. in relation to a US$440 million claim brought by Credit Suisse arising from the collapse of Greensill Capital.*
- Representing a Dutch automotive distributor in Court of Appeal proceedings relating to a GBP£70 million claim for alleged conspiracy to defraud.*
- Acting for a US liquidating trust in an ICC arbitration in excess of US$100 million concerning the provision and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.*
- Acting for a German aircraft engine maintenance provider in a ICC arbitration relating to a US$90 million dispute over the return of assets to an Iranian airline.*
- Investigating suspected bribery concerning an energy company.*
