Primary Focus & Experience
Charlie specializes in both UK and European competition law. She has experience acting on a broad range of matters including competition law investigations, multi-national merger control notifications, competition litigation and FDI matters.
- A selection of Charlie’s experience includes:
- Advising one of the main parties in the Competition and Markets Authority’s ongoing market investigation into veterinary services for household pets.
- Acting for Visa in Competition Appeal Tribunal proceedings relating to alleged infringements of competition law arising from the implementation of interchange fees associated with the use of debit and credit cards.
- Advising Brookfield on the antitrust and FDI aspects of its acquisition of Air Lease Corporation.
- Advising Investindustrial on the acquisition of DCC plc’s healthcare division.
- Advising Roche on the CMA Phase 1 approval for the acquisition of LumiraDx’s Point of Care Technology.
- Advising Incora (Wesco Aircraft) on the antitrust aspects of its restructuring.
- Advising Veritas Capital on the antitrust and FDI aspects of the recapitalization of Cotiviti, resulting in Veritas Capital and KKR holding equal ownership stakes.
- Advising One Equity Partners on the antitrust and FDI aspects of its acquisition of TechnipFMC’s measurement solutions business, rebranded as Guidant.
- Advising Charterhouse Capital Partners on the antitrust and FDI aspects of its acquisition of a majority stake in Two Circles, an international sports marketing company.
- Advising corporate and financial institution clients in relation to UK and EU sanctions against Russia, including in relation to transferable securities, imports / exports, and asset freezes against designated persons.
- Acting pro bono for a client in a company restoration case before Central London County Court.
- Acting pro bono for a client in an unpaid wages case before the Employment Tribunal.
Recognition & Accomplishments
Charlie studied Jurisprudence at the University of Oxford, followed by the LPC at the University of Law. Charlie has contributed to articles on a range of legal topics.
