Andrew has broad experience advising large corporates, private equity firms, and financial institutions on complex cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations. His practice spans a wide range of sectors, including financial services, technology, energy and digital infrastructure.
Prior to joining Milbank, Andrew advised on a number of significant transactions, including:
- Asahi Group Holdings on its US$ 2.3 billion acquisition of Diageo’s East Africa business.
- A multinational financial institution on its GBP 2.65 billion acquisition of TSB Banking Group from Banco Sabadell.
- JERA on its US$ 5.8 billion joint venture with bp to create one of the largest global offshore wind developers, owners and operators (13 GW).
- EQT and Temasek on their US$ 1.5 billion divestment of their entire stake in O2 Power, an Indian renewable energy platform, to JSW Energy.
- An investor on its US$ 1.5 billion acquisition of gaming platforms ESL and FACEIT.
- Ripple on its US$ 1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road, one of the fastest-growing prime brokers in the world.
- Blackstone on its EUR 1 billion acquisition of Baltics based Luminor Bank.
- Cisco on its US$ 730 million acquisition of a listed cloud communications software business provider IMImobile.
- Blacksheep Fund Management on its acquisition of Distilled Ltd from Blackstone and Permira.
- A financial institution on its GBP 390 million acquisition of digital retirement solutions provider Embark Group.
- IHS Towers on its US$ 274.5m sale of 100% of IHS Rwanda to Paradigm Tower Ventures.
Recognition & Accomplishments
Prior to relocating to Hong Kong, Andrew worked at a leading international law firm based in London, where he focused on international M&A and private equity transactions, as well as general corporate matters. Andrew has also completed client secondments with leading European private equity fund Charterhouse Capital Partners and payment services provider Checkout.com.
