Partner Paul Ng, member of the Transportation & Space Group of Milbank, was invited to speak on a panel at ISHKA’s “Investing in Aviation Finance China” on December 3rd in Shanghai. The conference brought together industry leaders, investors, and lessors which are active in the Chinese aviation finance market. Paul’s panel consisted of Kenneth Kwan, Head of Capital Markets for Asia at Standard Chartered Bank, and Johnny Lau, Chief Consultant at PWC, China. The discussion focused on alternative sources of funding available to Chinese lessors and airlines as funding costs are increasing. The panel also discussed the offshore unsecured bond market, the RMB bond market’s role in aircraft finance, the prospects for DCM products in Asia and the interest in JOLs and JOLCOS.
