The Office of the Appellate Defender (OAD) will host its 27th annual “First Monday in October” Virtual Gala and Mock Supreme Court Argument on October 5, 2020. Milbank Litigation and White Collar partner Antonia Apps, a member of the Board of OAD, will serve as a member of the host committee.
This year, arguments will be presented from Baxter v. Bracey, a case that asks whether the doctrine of qualified immunity should be narrowed or abolished. The Mock Supreme Court trial will be followed by Beyond the Courtroom: Discussions with OAD Staff on Our Work, Qualified Immunity, & COVID in Prisons.
