Milbank LLP associate Mark Leverkus will moderate two separate panels at the annual ASPCC 2023 Satellite Conference and Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur on October 11, 2023. Organized by the Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC), the annual conference brings together leaders from across the space and satellite sectors to discuss challenges and opportunities, and offer insights into how the industry can respond and grow.
Mr. Leverkus will moderate a panel discussing the topic of “Insuring Space Innovation: Can Insurance Drive Change and Advancement in the Space Industry?” which will examine novel solutions that can be provided by the global insurance market to support the growing space economy. Participants include representatives of leading global brokers, Marsh and Aon International Space Brokers. Mr. Leverkus will also moderate a session on “Financing and M&A Trends and Predictions in the Space Industry,” which will discuss how funding of space projects has changed in the current economic environment, as well as other predictions for the space financing and M&A markets in the coming year.
Mr. Leverkus advises on many of the most innovative, cutting-edge projects in the space and aviation markets. He is regularly recognized by industry publications, and this year has been named as a Rising Star by both The Legal 500 and AirFinance Journal.
APSCC is a non-profit international association that promotes communications and broadcasting via satellite as well as outer space activities in Asia-Pacific for the socioeconomic and cultural welfare of the region. APSCC has members from all sectors of satellite and/or space-related industries, including private and public companies, government ministries and agencies, and academic and research entities.
