Milbank LLP Global Leveraged Finance special counsel Janet Nadile spoke on the “Perfection by Filing Under UCC Article 9” and “Perfection by Control Under UCC Article and Priority” panels on September 8, 2025 during Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) Drafting Security Agreements and Other Related Issues Under UCC Article 9 program.
The panelists covered the basic elements of secured transactions and the fundamentals of protecting creditors and debtors in such transactions. Ms. Nadile also addressed perfection by filing and the preparation of the financing statement, as well as perfection by control, issues related to choice of law and alternative methods of control and priority of security interests.
Ms. Nadile, who focuses on a broad array of commercial law and secured transactions, including issues regarding Articles 8 and 9 of the UCC, developed and presents the Secured Transaction Series for Milbank’s finance groups, and initiated and oversees the Firm’s recommended collateral procedures for secured transactions.
