Milbank Partners, Initiatives Earn Nominations for Euromoney 2019 Americas Women in Business Law Awards

Reflecting the firm’s commitment to the advancement and retention of women attorneys, a number of Milbank LLP partners and initiatives have earned nominations for Euromoney Legal Media Group’s 2019 Americas Women in Business Law Awards. These prestigious awards recognize leading women lawyers in various practice areas as well as law firms’ programs related to gender diversity, innovation, pro bono, and other important initiatives.

Partner Deborah Festa, of the Alternative Investments Practice and leader of the firm’s West Coast securitization and investment management practices, was shortlisted for “Best in structured finance (including securitization & derivatives).” She won this category in 2017. Partner Carolina Walther-Meade, a member of the Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance and Latin America Practice Groups, earned a nomination for the “Best in energy, natural resources & mining” category (Milbank partner Karen Wong took home this award in 2018).

Milbank also received regional nominations for North America in the US Northeast and West categories, as well as nominations for the following:

  • Best gender diversity initiative by international firm
  • Best international firm – Latin America practice (Milbank won in this category for the past two years)
  • Most innovative international firm
  • Best international firm for work-life balance (Milbank has won in this category for the past two years)
  • Best international firm for pro bono work
  • Best international firm for talent management
  • Best international firm for women in business law

The awards will be presented in New York on June 6.
