Tawfiq S. Rangwala, a partner in Milbank’s Litigation & Arbitration Group, was honored with the Litigation Achievement Award at the South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY) 2021 Annual Leadership Awards Gala, held on September 30 at the Harvard Club in New York City. Prior recipients of this award include Judge Diane Gujarati, who sits in the Eastern District of New York; Gurbir Grewal, current Enforcement Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Anjan Sahni, partner at WilmerHale LLP.

The recognition reflects Mr. Rangwala’s accomplishments as a litigator and his dedication to representing the interests of the South Asian Bar and community. Mr. Rangwala's practice focuses on defense of US and international regulatory and criminal enforcement matters, as well as internal investigations across multiple jurisdictions and industries. He also has extensive experience handling federal and state court litigation of complex commercial cases involving securities and corporate law, contract disputes and financial restructuring.

Earlier this year, Chambers & Partners named Mr. Rangwala the 2021 Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in recognition of his significant work on pro bono matters addressing systemic discrimination and injustices in criminal cases.
