Josh Sterling, Litigation & Arbitration partner at Milbank LLP and a leading practitioner in commodities and derivatives law, will serve as a guest speaker for the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School course “Applying Legal Skills to VC Investing.” The course is taught by Sam Garcia, who also serves as a partner at venture capital fund Amplo. The course is designed to help law students understand how legal skills can be applied to venture capital investing.
Mr. Sterling will speak about prediction markets, drawing on examples from his work representing registered trading platforms in CFTC and SEC enforcement actions and assisting clients with developing systems for offering and trading innovative derivatives products.
Mr. Sterling, a Penn Law alumnus, held senior leadership roles at the CFTC, including serving as Director of the Market Participants Division, where he oversaw more than 3,300 banks, intermediaries and asset managers registered with the agency to trade derivatives in US markets.
