Milbank Partner Grant Bermann to Co-Chair ABA Conference on Antitrust and Sustainability

Milbank LLP Antitrust partner Grant Bermann has been named Co-Chair of the upcoming American Bar Association conference, “Antitrust and Sustainability: Friends or Foes?” The conference is co-organized by Howard University School of Law and the ABA Antitrust Law Section, the world’s leading organization of antitrust lawyers and economists. It will explore the growing intersection between antitrust law and efforts to promote sustainability. 

Bill Kovacic, Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission under President George W. Bush, will deliver the event’s keynote remarks. 

The conference will take place in person from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on October 16 at Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC. It will also be viewable remotely. A reception will follow. Free registration is available here.

Mr. Bermann’s practice focuses on the full range of antitrust matters, including litigation, government investigations, and merger review. He represents clients in investigations by the DOJ, FTC, and state attorneys general, as well as before federal and state courts. From 2020 to 2023, Mr. Bermann served as a trial attorney at the Antitrust Division of the DOJ. In that role, he led major merger investigations and litigated high-profile antitrust cases on behalf of the United States, including the DOJ’s successful challenges to Visa/Plaid and American Airlines/JetBlue, as well as its pending challenge to JetBlue/Spirit

Mr. Bermann is a leader in the ABA Antitrust Law Section, where he serves as Co-Chair of the Transportation and Energy Industries Committee. Previously, he served as Vice Chair of the Global Private Litigation Committee. He has lectured and published widely on antitrust topics.
