Milbank Partner Fiona Schaeffer Speaking at the CBA’s Annual Competition Law Fall Conference

Milbank LLP Antitrust partner Fiona Schaeffer is speaking at the Canadian Bar Association’s annual Competition Law Fall Conference on Thursday, October 20 in Ottawa. Ms. Schaeffer is speaking on a plenary program “Contentious and High Stakes Mergers,” which will address recent high-profile challenges to mergers by the US and Canadian antitrust enforcers and key takeaways for the business community and government enforcers in future transactions.

In addition to Ms. Schaeffer, the plenary panel will feature Jeanne Pratt of the Canadian Competition Bureau and leading Canadian practitioners, Michael Kilby of Stikeman Elliot LLP, Michael Osborne of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Debbie Salzberger of McCarthy Tétrault LLP and James Gotowiec of Torys LLP.

The CBA’s 2022 Conference brings together broad representation from the competition law community, including Canadian and international enforcement officials, in-house counsel, plaintiffs’ lawyers, defense lawyers, economists and academics, in order to share knowledge, experience and advice regarding all areas of competition and foreign investment law and policy, including mergers, unilateral conduct, cartel and class action proceedings and deceptive marketing practices.
