Milbank LLP Transportation and Space partner Dara Panahy will moderate a panel titled “Perspectives on Satellite Financing and Insurance” on June 6, 2023 during the Asia Video Industry Association’s (AVIA) Satellite Industry Forum in Singapore. Panelists will provide an overview of the satellite industry’s financial health going into a challenging 2023 fiscal year, discussing the state of the satellite supply chain and identifying the industry’s greatest opportunities for growth in connectivity and managed services. The panelists will also provide insight on the satellite industry’s ability to keep costs low while developing complex solutions that are in demand.
The Satellite Industry Forum will include discussions exploring all facets of the satellite business, from the standpoint of an operator, manufacturer and the customer. Speakers will discuss the two directions the satellite industry is currently heading in – one driven by increased demand for data and the other by the demand for very small terminals with limited data rates to meet IoT requirements, along with discussions on the rise in popularity of streaming services, which is becoming another standout trend.
