Milbank LLP Transportation and Space partner Dara Panahy moderated the panel “New LEO / Smallsat Launch and Deployment Systems” at the annual SATELLITE 2021 conference on September 7, 2021.
The panel addressed the question: How are all of those thousand-plus smallsat constellations going to get to orbit? The answer to which is actually quite complicated. Panelists presented an entire menu of new options for placing small satellites into space, discussing everything from specialized rockets (including alternatives to standard rockets) to multi-satellite dispensing systems, as well as the latest research and knowledge on smallsat deployment.
