Milbank LLP Transportation and Space partner Dara Panahy participated in a “Fireside Interview” session at the SmallSat Europe conference on May 28, 2026, in Amsterdam. Mr. Panahy was joined by Wim Steenbakkers, Managing Director and Global Lead Technology at ING, for a discussion exploring the evolving landscape of European space and defense financing.
The session addressed recent developments and historic growth shaping financing strategies for European space and defense companies, as well as potential sources of capital and capital raising strategies.
As head of the firm’s Space Business practice globally, Mr. Panahy focuses on the representation of satellite and space infrastructure operators, aerospace manufacturers, launch services providers, communications companies, banks, private equity firms and hedge funds in debt and equity offerings, project, structured and vendor financings, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings and negotiating commercial contracts. He also co-authors Milbank's Space Business Review newsletter, a monthly roundup of space industry developments.
