On November 29, London Capital Markets associate Alastair Gillespie was awarded the Senate 150th Anniversary Medal by the Senate of Canada in recognition of his historical studies on the founding of Canada and the Canadian constitution.
During Canada’s 150th anniversary celebration this year, Alastair published five in-depth historical studies on Canada’s key Fathers of Confederation, in association with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, an independent non-partisan public policy think tank, where he is Munk Senior Fellow in the Canadian Political Tradition.
The Senate 150th medal celebrates the achievements of Canadians who have made significant contributions to their community and the nation, and commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first sitting of the Canadian Senate on November 6th, 1867.
