Milbank Named Indonesia International Law Firm of the Year by Chambers Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE/NEW YORK, May 8, 2015 – Reasserting its stature as one of the premier international legal advisors in Asia, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has once again been named Indonesia International Law Firm of the Year at the annual Chambers Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence at a ceremony held in Hong Kong.

It was the second time in three years that Milbank was honored by Chambers for its market leading work in Indonesia. And it follows the firm’s 2014 selection as Singapore International Law Firm of the Year.

The Chambers award recognizes “outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.” Milbank, Chambers notes, “is renowned for its Indonesian work, and is also active across South East Asia.” The publisher highlighted the firm’s strengths in financing and project development, M&A and capital markets.   • Advising transportation service provider PT Blue Bird Tbk on its US$202 million IPO on the Indonesian Stock Exchange, one of the largest IPOs of the year, and the company’s subsequent Rule 144A/Regulation S international offering;
  • Representing Indonesian telecom tower provider PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk on its US$180 million inaugural international bond issuance;
  • Representing Lion Group, Indonesia’s largest air carrier, as its purchase of US$1.2 billion in jet engines from CFM International, and establishment of a maintenance facility and repair consultancy;
  • Advisor to leading Indonesian mining concern PT Adaro Indonesia on its US$1 billion loan facility from a large consortium of lenders;
  • Advising Sarulla Operations Limited in relation to the US$1billion project financing of the 330 MW geothermal power project in Sumatra which is scheduled to be one of Indonesia’s largest geothermal power plants and the first greenfield geothermal power project to be successfully project financed in Indonesia in over a decade.
