Milbank Antitrust Partner Fiona Schaeffer Spoke at Brazilian Antitrust Bar Association’s Annual Meeting

Milbank LLP Antitrust partner Fiona Schaeffer spoke at the Brazilian Antitrust Bar Association’s 28th Annual Meeting on October 27, 2022 on a panel addressing the “Retrospective Review of Merger Cases: Precedents, Effects, and Possible Procedural Improvements." Ms. Schaeffer shared insights on the US experience with litigated merger challenges, lessons learned and recommendations for merging parties and the regulators.

Ms. Schaeffer was joined by Rodrigo da Silva Alves dos Santos and Marcel Medon Santos of TozziniFreire Advogados, Alexandre Barretto, General Superintendent of CADE, Diogo Maron Pinheiro Alves, in-house antitrust counsel at Bayer, and Renata Zuccolo, partner at Mattos Filho Advogados.

Fiona Schaeffer is an international antitrust lawyer with over 25 years of experience practicing on both sides of the Atlantic. Ms. Schaeffer is the Chair Elect of the American Bar Association’s Section of Antitrust Law, former Chair of the Antitrust & Trade Regulation Committee of the New York City Bar Association and member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Antitrust Section. She is consistently recognized as a leading antitrust lawyer by Chambers, The Legal 500, Global Competition Review and Benchmark Litigation, among others.
