The $1.1 billion project will improve energy efficiency and modernize the college campus

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP represented a group of institutional investors and commercial bank lenders in the financing of the concession entered into by The Ohio State University for its Comprehensive Energy Management Project. The Project will provide a comprehensive solution to modernize the heating, cooling and electricity systems for the University’s 485-building Columbus campus and provides total value to the University of $1.165 billion. Axium Infrastructure and ENGIE North America are the sponsors of the Project. The Project also is intended to promote sustainability and establish a major center for energy research and technology commercialization.

The Milbank deal team was led by Jonathan Green, co-chair of Milbank’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group, together with associates Timothy Fitzpatrick and Nieri Avanessian.

Milbank, a leader in the development and financing of global infrastructure projects, also advised the lenders in financing The Ohio State University’s parking concession in 2012.
