In a nod to a noteworthy pro bono case, Law360 highlights Milbank Litigation associate Gary Crosby’s involvement in Stout v. Jefferson Cty. Bd. of Educ. The case stemmed from a federal desegregation action involving an Alabama county public school system that was litigated for decades. Mr. Crosby assisted attorneys with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) in their successful appeal of a district court’s ruling. The win was an “emotional” one for Mr. Crosby, who notes that he got a chance to “use my skills as a litigator to ensure that every student is afforded educational opportunities that are free from racial discrimination.”
