Milbank LLP partner John Beahn participated in a panel discussion on CFIUS issues at the Global Competition Review: Foreign Investment Control conference in London on December 6, 2022. Mr. Beahn joined representatives from the US and Canadian governments to discuss the latest developments and strategic thinking on how CFIUS and other North American investment reviews are impacting foreign direct investment activities.

Mr. Beahn’s practice focuses on matters related to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (“CFIUS”) and foreign direct investment (“FDI”). He has extensive experience representing clients in national security reviews before CFIUS, the “Team Telecom” executive branch agencies and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency. Mr. Beahn has successfully represented domestic and foreign clients, including purchasers, sellers, investors, private equity sponsors and consortia and other institutional investors in transactions and investments subject to CFIUS and other national security reviews, and in some of the most complex transactions approved by CFIUS, DCSA and Team Telecom and has negotiated several of the most comprehensive mitigation agreements executed with the US government.
