IP and Litigation partner Lauren Drake has been recognized as one of the top intellectual property attorneys under the age of 40 by leading legal publication Law360 as part of its annual “Rising Stars” series.
Law360’s Rising Stars are attorneys under 40 who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in their careers. The publication’s editors select honorees based on each lawyer’s achievements within their respective practice areas.
Ms. Drake is a seasoned patent litigator, focusing her practice on intellectual property and patent litigation, including patent post-grant proceedings. She has extensive experience representing clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and is admitted to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Her recent achievements include representing NantKwest before the district court, Federal Circuit, and US Supreme Court in a 35 U.S.C. § 145 action relating to the Patent and Trademark Office’s ability to recover attorneys’ fees under § 145. She also recently defended Genentech in connection with IPR petitions in the Patent Trial and Appeal Board for multiple patents relating to methods of using Genentech’s blockbuster drug, rituximab.
Ms. Drake joined Milbank in August 2019. Prior to joining, she was a partner at Irell & Manella LLP.
