Matthew Koch is an associate in the New York office of Milbank and a member of the firm’s Financial Restructuring Group.

Mr. Koch is currently on secondment with a host organization. 

Primary Focus & Experience

Mr. Koch’s practice focuses on a variety of financial restructuring transactions, including representation of ad hoc groups, individual secured creditors, sponsors, debtors, and official committees of unsecured creditors in chapter 11 bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts, and related transactions.

Prior to joining Milbank, Mr. Koch served as a law clerk to the Honorable Laurie Selber Silverstein of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Before his clerkship, he worked as an associate in the Business Reorganization & Restructuring Group at Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Mr. Koch earned his J.D. from The Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Woolsack Honor Society. He also served as an articles editor of the Penn State Law Review, which has published his work. He received his Honors B.A. from the University of Delaware.
