Milbank LLP Global Projects, Energy and Infrastructure Finance partner Shepard Liu spoke at a multilateral training program on nuclear and other sustainable energy on 10 November in Beijing. The event was organized by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) through its subsidiary China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation (CZEC), an enterprise specializing in the development of overseas nuclear, renewable and conventional power projects.
Mr. Liu discussed global project development and limited recourse financing of power projects. The training program also included modules on financing and government policies with respect to development of overseas power projects. Participants from leading energy and power companies from across frontier and emerging markets in Asia attended the program.
Funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the program aims to promote communication and cooperation within the nuclear and sustainable energy fields in Asia through knowledge sharing amongst countries with significant nuclear experience and those with emerging nuclear capabilities.
