Milbank LLP International Arbitration partner Viren Mascarenhas will be interviewed by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) on Wednesday, May 1 on the “Climate Justice: Advisory Opinions in International Courts and Tribunals” panel.
Mr. Mascarenhas will address the advisory opinions pending before the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights concerning the obligations of states under international law regarding climate change.
Mr. Mascarenhas has significant experience advising or representing states, international organizations and companies in proceedings before international courts and arbitral tribunals, including on international investment law, international environmental law, transboundary harm and human rights. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and teaches international arbitration at Columbia Law School.
