We are a big office, in a big city, yet we maintain a small office culture in which associates and partners from different practice areas often consult each other and work together. The Firm has a relaxed business casual environment.

Recruiting/Summer Program

Milbank NY recruits on campus at national and local law schools and from high quality candidates completing judicial clerkships for our summer program and incoming classes. Our recruiting process focuses on a two-way street where we get to know you, and you get to know us. Our call-back interviews include two partners and two associates and generally take a half day. Offer decisions are usually made within one week of a call-back interview.

We pride ourselves on running an extremely personal and comprehensive summer program. Summer associates rotate through three practice areas. Each summer associate is assigned two associate advisors to assist with the transition between law school and law firm life. The summer program is managed by the Recruiting Committee, along with a partner from each practice area, to ensure that each summer associate is getting a broad experience throughout each rotation. Informal and formal social events are scheduled throughout the summer to complete the summer associate experience. Offers are typically extended on each summer associate's last day.

Once associates join our firm, they are assigned directly to a practice area. An intensive training program is an important aspect of our entry level associates' introduction to their career at Milbank.
