London is among the world’s leading financial and commercial centres. Over three decades ago, in recognition of that fact, Milbank was one of the first US-based law firms to open in London, both to serve our clients in the region and to provide English Law advice across the globe.

Nearly all of our London partners are English solicitors, and a number are dual qualified in England and New York. We advise not only on matters that directly involve the UK, but also more generally on transactions executed, and disputes arising, in London or governed by English Law and which involve parties or businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian sub-continent and Asia.

Virtually all of our London partners, and a number of our senior associates, have been recognised as leaders in their respective fields by prominent legal directories, with a number recognised as being in the top tier of their respective practices. Our London lawyers are regularly called upon to speak at seminars and to publish articles in leading legal and industry journals. The London team has won numerous “Team of the Year” designations, we regularly work on innovative deals that have been recognised as industry or regional “Deal of the Year”, and act in the largest cases being heard in the English Courts.

The London office is very much integrated with, and at the centre of, our global practice.
