Prominent Antitrust Attorney Alexander Rinne Joins Firm in Germany

MUNICH, 18 May 2010 – Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP is delighted to announce the election of prominent antitrust lawyer Dr. Alexander Rinne as partner in its Munich office. This brings the number of partners in Milbank's German practice to eleven, with a total of 34 lawyers in Germany. Rinne, who will be joined by associates Dr. Andreas Boos and Dr. Tatjana Mühlbach, will establish Milbank's antitrust practice in Germany and Europe.

Dr. Alexander Rinne (41) has been a partner in SJ Berwin's Munich office since 2001 and was head of SJ Berwin's German and European antitrust practice. He specializes in merger control procedures as well as cartel investigations and proceedings before the relevant antitrust authorities dealing with the violation of dominant positions. He also has extensive expertise in cartel proceedings before German and European courts, where he represents clients particularly in the context of antitrust summary proceedings, remedial actions and merger clearances. Alexander Rinne was admitted to the German bar in 1998 and studied law at the universities of Duesseldorf and Kiel, Germany. In Kiel, he also obtained his doctorate degree (Dr. jur.) in 1996.
