NEW YORK, January 5, 2012 – International law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has announced that Nicholas A. Smith has been elected as partner. Mr. Smith is a member of the firm’s Corporate Group and leads the Technology and Outsourcing practice in New York.
Mr. Smith has extensive experience in negotiating and documenting IT and business process outsourcing transactions, application development and maintenance projects, and procurement and supply chain projects. In addition to his experience in outsourcing, Mr. Smith has advised clients on transactions to develop technology-intensive infrastructure and customer-facing functions. He has advised clients on projects ranging from the development of new, custom-built communications networks to electronic health record solutions. In addition to his experience in the United States, Mr. Smith has led Milbank teams onsite in Europe and Asia.
Mr. Smith has been recognized by Legal 500 as an outstanding US practitioner.
He obtained his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.
