NEW YORK, October 20, 2011 – Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has been named to the 2011 Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Licensing 250: “The World’s Leading Patent & Technology Licensing Lawyers” list.

Milbank was praised for its “strategic nous in adversarial situations, combined with deep technology and transactional expertise” as well as “a sterling reputation for its pharmaceuticals work, particularly in contentious scenarios.”

The Intellectual Property and Corporate groups were acknowledged for undertaking a significant amount of licensing work both domestically and internationally.

Additionally, Christopher Chalsen, head of the Intellectual Property group, stood out as a recommended intellectual property attorney. Mr. Chalsen was recognized for his emphasis in electrical and computer technologies with a particular focus on the representation of Asian clients in licensing negotiations with US companies.

IAM facilitated extensive research over four months, which included telephone interviews, emails with attorneys and users of legal services in life sciences patent litigation. IAM spoke with private practice lawyers in 25 key jurisdictions. The aim was to identify the lawyers whom clients turn to when they want to ensure an effective and watertight licensing agreement.
