NEW YORK, January 18, 2011 – The international law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has announced the election of three new partners, all formerly associates with the firm, to the New York, Los Angeles and Singapore offices. Respectively, the new partners are: Christopher J. Gaspar, Adam R. Moses, and Giles Kennedy.
NEW YORK:
Christopher J. Gaspar is a member of Milbank’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. His practice includes intellectual property litigation, counseling, and patent-prosecution involving a wide range of technologies and products including the semiconductor, computer software, computer hardware, financial services, pharmaceutical, medical device, electrical, and mechanical fields. He also counsels clients on a wide array of intellectual property issues arising in M&A and financial restructuring transactions.
Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Gaspar was an engineer for Boeing Commercial Airplanes designing flight-control and autopilot computer systems for the 777. He received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University in 1992, and his J.D., With High Distinction, from the University of Iowa in 1997. He is admitted to practice in the US Supreme Court, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal and Fifth Circuits, New York, the District of Columbia, Missouri, various US District Courts, and also before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
LOS ANGELES:
Adam R. Moses is a member of Milbank’s Global Corporate Group. Mr. Moses focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and capital markets transactions. He represents clients across a range of industries in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, equity and debt investments, and other complex corporate transactions. His experience includes domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, take-private transactions, proxy contests, and unsolicited bids for corporate control. He also routinely advises issuers and underwriters in connection with securities offerings.
In addition to his transactional work, Mr. Moses counsels the management and boards of directors of companies with respect to general corporate matters, including governance, takeover preparedness, fiduciary duty questions and compliance with the federal securities laws.
Mr. Moses received a B.A. in Political Science from Yeshiva University, graduating summa cum laude and with departmental honors. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School where he served as an editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review.
SINGAPORE:
Giles Kennedy is a member of Milbank’s Global Securities Group. Mr. Kennedy’s practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, financings and cross-border securities offerings, including high-yield and other debt offerings and equity offerings in the Asia-Pacific region, across many industries including telecommunications, power and energy, mining, transportation, manufacturing and property development.
Mr. Kennedy received his B.A. and LL.B. from Canterbury University in 1997 and his LL.M. (1st class) from Victoria University in New Zealand in 2000. He is admitted to practice in New York, is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, and is currently awaiting admission as a Solicitor in the United Kingdom. Giles is a recommended lawyer in Chambers Asia and IFLR 1000.
