Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy announced that Paul Ng, a leading aviation lawyer, has joined the firm as a partner in the Singapore office effective May 12. He is a member of Milbank’s Transportation and Space group.
Mr. Ng joined from Stephenson Harwood, where he was the global head of their Aviation Practice. Mr. Ng is admitted to practice in England and Wales, New York and Singapore. He speaks several Chinese dialects including Mandarin, Teochew and Cantonese.
For more than 15 years, Mr. Ng has acted for airlines, lenders, operating and finance lessors, borrowers, lessees and arrangers in a wide range of banking, corporate mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, finance and leasing transactions. Known for advising aviation clients throughout Asia on complex, first-in-the-industry structured and receivables financing, Paul has led a number of landmark tax based finance, Islamic finance and export credit transactions including the largest commercial aircraft acquisition ever completed and the acquisition of the largest leasing company based in Asia.
Recognized among the leading Asian financing lawyers, he is listed as a Band 1 lawyer for Aviation: Finance in the recent 2014 edition of Chambers Asia Pacific and a Leading Individual for Asset Finance in Singapore by Legal 500, 2014. He is listed in the International Who’s Who of Legal Professionals (aviation) and Euromoney’s Guide to World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers. Mr. Ng is also named as a leading Islamic finance adviser in relation to transportation matters by Islamic Finance News.
