Leading European Financial Restructuring Attorney Joins Firm as Partner
LONDON, 26 August 2009 – International law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP is delighted to announce the election of Nick Angel as a partner in its Financial Restructuring Group, resident in London.
Milbank has one of the world’s leading financial restructuring practices, operating on a global basis to represent creditors and debtors in the most complex and high profile bankruptcies. Milbank’s restructuring practice is known for bringing together in a single core team its strong expertise across offices in restructuring, finance, corporate, litigation and tax.
Among the Firm’s more significant restructurings are representing the Official Creditors’ Committees on Lehman Brothers (including European aspects), Enron, Global Crossing and Refco and, in Europe, examples of the Firm’s experience include advising on the largest SIV restructurings (Cheyne, WhistleJacket, Orion), LyondellBasell, Premiere AG (now Sky Deutschland), Cooper StandardAutomotive, Aleris, Drax, Teesside, BoxClever, Concordia Bus and Esprit Telecom. The European offices are currently advising on the restructuring of a number of European leveraged structures.
The addition of Mr. Angel to the team in London further enhances this capability.
Mr. Angel was formerly a member of Ashurst’s restructuring practice, where he acted on a broad range of insolvencies, advising debtors, creditors and distressed investors. Mr. Angel is ranked as a leading individual in Restructuring/Insolvency by Chambers UK 2009 and in Insolvency and Corporate Recovery by Legal Experts 2009.
