Milbank Advises on $1 Billion Export Development Canada Bond Offering
NEW YORK, October 13, 2008 – International law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has advised Export Development Canada, a crown corporation of Canada, in connection with the offering of $1 billion aggregate principal amount of 2.625% United States dollar bonds due 2011. Lead underwriters on the deal included Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited, HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., Merrill Lynch International and RBC Capital Markets Corporation.
“This offering is an example of the continued ability of highly-rated financial institutions to access the U.S. capital markets even in the midst of the ongoing credit crisis,” said Robert W. Mullen, Jr., the Global Securities partner who led the deal.

Export Development Canada provides loans, guarantees, insurance and other agreements and undertakings to promote the export of Canadian goods and services. The bonds carry the full faith and credit of Canada.
