A large office with a small-office personality is one way to describe the culture of the New York office. Associates and partners from different practice areas often consult each other and work together. The Firm has a relaxed environment and every Friday is casual day.

Recruiting/Summer Program
Milbank/N.Y. recruits on campus at more than 25 national and local law schools and from judicial clerkships for our summer program and incoming classes. Our call-back interviews include two partners and two associates and generally take a half day. Offer decisions are usually made within one week of a call-back interview. The Recruiting Committee in our New York office is comprised of three partners and four associates.

We pride ourselves on running an extremely personal and comprehensive summer program. Summer associates rotate through two or three practice areas and choose their rotations based on practice area presentations given during a full day orientation program in April. Each summer associate is assigned an associate advisor to assist with the transition between law school and law firm life. The summer program is managed by the Recruiting Committee, along with a partner from each practice area to ensure that each summer associate is getting a broad experience throughout each rotation. Informal and formal social events are scheduled throughout the summer to complete the summer associate experience. Offers are typically extended on each summer associate's last day.

Entry level associates are assigned directly to a practice area. An intensive offsite training program is an important aspect of our entry level associates' introduction to their career at Milbank.
