Ben Clossick Thomson is a barrister in the Intellectual Property Litigation Department of the London office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. Ben’s practice covers all aspects of patents, trade marks, copyright, designs and confidential information.

Prior to joining the firm, Ben trained at two of London’s top intellectual property barristers’ chambers. In the field of trade marks he has particular experience of litigation relating to domain names, colour marks and shape marks. His patent litigation experience encompasses technologies as diverse as telecommunications signal multiplexing, pharmaceuticals in the field of transplant rejection, electronic stair-lifts and membrane waste filtration.

During his academic career, prior to qualifying as a lawyer, Ben obtained a first class honours degree from the University of Warwick in Mathematics and Physics. He also has two masters degrees, one in Management of Intellectual Property from the University of London and the other in Biotechnological Law and Ethics from the University of Sheffield, both achieved with Distinction.

Ben was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2001 and has rights of audience in all English courts including the High Court, Patents County Court and Trade Mark Registry.
