Christopher Stothers is an associate in the intellectual property practice group in the London office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy LLP. His practice is focused on intellectual property (especially patent litigation and trade mark, copyright and design litigation), pharmaceutical regulation, European Union law, competition law (antitrust) and commercial litigation. He is an arbitral panelist for .eu domain name disputes at the Czech Arbitration Court, a committee member of the Competition Law Association and on the editorial board of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice. He also teaches intellectual property and competition law to undergraduate and postgraduate law students as a Visiting Lecturer at University College London, having previously taught at Cambridge and Oxford Universities. His practitioner textbook “Parallel Trade in Europe: Intellectual Property, Competition and Regulatory Law” was published by Hart Publishing in April 2007. He has published numerous articles in the European Intellectual Property Review, the European Competition Law Review and the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice and has contributed chapters to books on intellectual property, antitrust and European Union law. He is also a regular conference speaker, including papers for the Fordham Intellectual Property Conference, the Licensing Executives Society, the Practising Law Institute, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the College of Europe. Dr. Stothers is a solicitor qualified in England and Wales. He received his B.A. in Law from Cambridge University (Downing College) and his B.C.L. in International and Comparative Law from Oxford University (Brasenose College), both with first class honours, and his Ph.D. in Law from Cambridge University. Before joining Milbank he worked for the international law firm Linklaters in London, including secondments to the European Commission in Brussels and to the Linklaters office in Bratislava, Slovakia, and for the niche intellectual property law firm Willoughby & Partners (Rouse Legal) in London.
