Ludger Schult is an associate in the Munich office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. He joined Milbank in 2006 and specializes in mergers & acquisitions with a particular focus on private equity transactions.

His recent major transactions include the legal advice to:

  • ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG on the sale of C More Group AB to TV4 which operates a number of Free- and Pay-TV channels in Sweden.
  • Alupak AG on a joint venture with Teich AG.
  • Schoeller Metternich Beteiligungen (SMB) on the sale of helsa-automotive GmbH & Co. KG to Mann+Hummel Group.
  • The Carlyle Group and Advent International on the sale of HT Troplast to Arcapita.
  • Veolia Environnement and its subsidiary SULO on the sale of the environmental technology division to Plastic Omnium.
  • JP Morgan Partners on the sale of Siteco to Barclays Private Equity.
  • Apax and Blackstone on the sale of SULO Group to Veolia Environnement.
  • SULO GmbH on the acquisition of Henning Group.
  • DZ Equity Partner on the acquisition of Wessel-Werk Group.

In the past, Ludger Schult has advised in a variety of corporate transactions including acting for one of the world’s largest electronics companies and a large generic pharmaceuticals company in connection with their acquisitions (both stock and asset based) and divestitures in the United States. Ludger Schult has also represented U.S. private equity firms in connection with their fund formation and investment transactions. Additionally, he has also represented one of the world’s largest financial institution in connection with numerous purchases and sales of distressed debt in the secondary loan market.

Ludger Schult studied law at the University of Giessen and holds a post-graduate degree from the Boston University School of Law (LL.M.). Before joining Milbank, he was an associate for several years in the corporate group of a major international law firm in New York.

Ludger Schult is admitted to practice law in Germany and the State of New York. He speaks German and English.
