Jack Griem is a partner in the Intellectual Property Group of Milbank’s Litigation Department in New York. His practice concentrates primarily on litigation. He is experienced in analyzing and negotiating license and technology development agreements. Mr. Griem also devotes a significant part of his practice to intellectual property issues arising in corporate and finance transactions. Recently, Mr. Griem’s practice has focused on representing branded pharmaceutical companies in Hatch Waxman patent litigation. He has also led major patent, trademark, and false advertising litigation in the fields of medical products, consumer electronic products and semiconductors, among others. Mr. Griem also applies his experience in litigation to representing companies and individuals in negotiating and enforcing intellectual property and technology agreements in fields including energy, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and entertainment. A regular part of his practice includes working with his Milbank colleagues to discover, analyze and address intellectual property issues that arise in corporate and finance transactions. Mr. Griem is a member of the Pharmaceutical Issues Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association, and has been a guest speaker on intellectual property issues at conferences and universities. He is a former member of the Committee on Patents, and the Committee on Trademarks and Unfair Competition, of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Mr. Griem is a member of the bars of the State of New York, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Griem received an A.B. from Dartmouth College, where he double majored in Chemistry and Psychology. He received his law degree, with honors, from the Hofstra University School of Law, where he was on the editorial board of the Law Review.
