Trayton Davis joined Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP as a partner in 1993 and is Chair of the Firm’s Global Finance Practice Group and a former member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.

Mr. Davis regularly advises leading players in securitizing both financial and hard assets and in other domestic and international structured transactions. His recent areas of particular focus include: (i) innovative uses of structured finance techniques in energy and commodities trading businesses; (ii) complex investment fund structures; (iii) structured investments by private equity and distressed investors; and (iv) cross border structured investments.

Mr. Davis also has particular expertise in representing investors in distressed transactions involving structured finance and other complex capital structures, including official and ad hoc creditor committees in the bankruptcies of Enron, Calpine, sub-prime mortgage lender New Century Financial Enterprises and medical receivables finance company National Century Financial Enterprises (NCFE).

Mr. Davis is listed in The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers for 2007 and Chambers USA and New York Super Lawyers for 2008. In addition, he is a member of the Business and International Law Sections of the American Bar Association and the American College of Investment Counsel. He received his B.A. from Haverford College and his J.D. from New York University.
