Dan Bartfeld is a partner in the New York Office and a member of the Global Project Finance Group of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. His practice focuses primarily on the representation of financial institutions and project sponsors in the development and financing of a wide range of oil/gas, petrochemical, renewable energy, power and other infrastructure-related projects in Latin America and the US. Mr. Bartfeld's experience includes representing the lenders in the Schahin Oil Rig Project in Brazil; the lenders in the Abengoa Ethanol Projects in the US; the Japanese sponsors in the $3.5 billion WEDP/Anaco oil-related financings with PDVSA; CVRD in the Brazilian mining company's $6 billion pre-export financing; the lenders in Cheniere's Sabine Pass LNG Regasification Project in the US; the Japanese sponsors in the PDET Campos Basin Oil Project in Brazil; the sponsors in the Termobahia Power Project, Ibirite Power Project and TermoRio Power Project (each in Brazil); the lenders in the Greenbrier Coal Mine Project in the US; the lenders in the Cheyenne Plains Gas Pipeline Project in the US; the underwriters in the El Cajon Hydroelectric Project in Mexico; the lenders in the Campeche power plant in Mexico; the lenders in the Sincor Heavy Oil Project in Venezuela; the lenders in the Gresik Copper Smelter and Refining Project in Indonesia; the sponsors in the Mangalore Power Project in India and the lenders in the Jorf Lasfar Power Project in Morocco. He is currently representing a variety of lenders and sponsors in their development and financing efforts in Latin America and the US. Mr. Bartfeld has been the featured speaker at numerous industry conferences and has been recognized by a number of publications as one of the country’s leading project finance lawyers, including Chambers USA and Chambers Global. Mr. Bartfeld is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the George Washington University National Law Center. He is admitted to practice in New York.
