Accolades

Now we realize that “accolade” has a pretty serious etymology…a French word adopted in English, an accolade originally referred to an embrace around the neck. A kind of cuddle. The word grew up a bit in later years and came to characterize the act of conferring knighthood…you know, when a sword is tapped on the shoulder in true medieval glamour. Either way, by sword or website, we are extremely grateful for the praise bestowed on us…

  Best Lawyers in America, the preeminent referral guide to the legal profession in the United States, included 28 of Milbank’s finest in its survey of the best lawyers in America. Those practitioners were rated the nation’s finest in a variety of practices including banking, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, corporate governance, corporate/M&A, employee benefit, energy, equipment finance, information technology, project finance, securities, tax, trust and estates, white collar criminal defense, ADR and international arbitration.   Business Insurance Magazine included litigation partner Linda Dakin-Grimm in their “Women to Watch” feature, which highlighted a group of 50 women leaders in commercial insurance, reinsurance, risk management and employee benefits. (July 2007)  
  Chambers USA designated partner John K. Halvey a Star Performer in the Business Process Outsourcing and Technology & IT Outsourcing categories for the third consecutive year. Chambers USA stated that he is “universally considered to be ‘one of the godfathers of the industry.’” (2007)
