Tobias Stirnberg is a founding partner of Milbank’s São Paulo office. His focus is on New York law-based consulting to Brazilian and Latin American companies in the areas of capital markets, M&A, financing and restructuring.
Primary Focus & Experience
Mr. Stirnberg’s practice centers on capital markets, finance and corporate matters. His clients include Brazilian corporations and U.S. and Brazilian banks and underwriting firms. He has extensive experience across a broad range of industries, including transportation, steel, energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, financial services, real estate, manufacturing and retail.

- The underwriters in equity offerings of Gerdau, Banco Santander, Queiroz Galvão, Magazine Luiza and Natura
- Gol and CSN in all corporate and capital markets matters
- CCR, BM&F Bovespa, Cielo, Redecard in all international capital markets matters

- Itaú Unibanco in the sale of Bank of America’s entire equity stake in Itaú Unibanco

Recognition & Accomplishments
He holds a PhD from the University of Friedrich Schiller in Jena, Germany and a post-graduate degree from the University of Chicago School of Law (LL.M). He is consistently ranked as a leading capital markets lawyer in Brazil by Chambers Global and Chambers Latin America. He speaks English, Portuguese and German.
