Risa M. Rosenberg is of counsel in Milbank’s Financial Restructuring Group and is based in the New York Office.
Ms. Rosenberg has extensive experience in both the transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcies, work-outs, and financial restructurings. She has represented debtors in possession, official committees, ad hoc committees, investors, and institutional creditors acting in various capacities, including as secured creditors, unsecured creditors, and indenture trustees, in a wide variety of cases and matters. Ms. Rosenberg’s experience includes significant representations in numerous chapter 11 cases, including in ATA Airlines, Calpine, Drexel, Delta Airlines, Empresa Electrica Del Norte Grande SA, Fruit of the Loom, Horizon Natural Resources, Monarch Capital/Monarch Insurance, Northwest Airlines, NRG, Owens-Corning, Semi-Tech, SLI, Inc., United Airlines, US Lines, US Airways I and II, and Waste Systems International, and in numerous out of court restructurings.
Ms. Rosenberg received her J.D. with honors from Rutgers School of Law – Newark in 1983, where she was articles editor of the Rutgers Journal of Computers and the Law and her B.A. from Cornell University in 1980. She is admitted in the States of New York and New Jersey, and to the Southern and Eastern District Courts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, INSOL, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and is a past member of the ABCNY’s Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization and the ABCNY’s Committee on Federal Legislation.
She is a member of the board of trustee of The Tenafly Nature Center Association.
