Marcelo A. Mottesi is a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee.  He is also head of the firm’s Global Securities Group and a member of Milbank’s Latin America Practice Group.

Primary Focus & Experience

A partner since 1999, Mr. Mottesi’s practice centers on capital markets, finance and corporate matters. His clients include US and foreign banks and underwriting firms, as well as domestic and foreign companies.  He has extensive experience across a broad range of industries, including energy, telecommunications, financial services, forestry/agriculture, technology, manufacturing, real estate, entertainment and retail.

Among his recent representations:

  • Initial public offerings and other offerings of equity securities, including most recently acting in equity offerings by Compañía Cervecerías Unidas, Banco de Chile, Cencosud, ILC, Arcos Dorados and Adecoagro;
  • Offerings of high yield and investment grade debt securities in the US and international capital markets, including most recently acting in debt offerings by Comcel, Banco de Costa Rica, Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, Banco de los Trabajadores, AES Gener, Andino, Minsur, Alicorp, Ferreycorp, Minera Milpo, Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana, AES El Salvador, Coazucar, Scotiabank Peru, Banco Sudameris, Ajecorp, Cimentos Tupi, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, Banca Mifel, Inkia, Banco Votorantim, Coelba, Fibria, Cencosud, Banco Galicia, Tarjeta Naranja, Banco de Credito del Peru, Telefonica Moviles and Energisa;
  • Structured financings, mergers, acquisitions and investments;
  • Project finance and infrastructure transactions in the context of both bank and capital market financings.
