Jerry Marks is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and a member of the firm's Litigation & Arbitration Group. He is head of the Los Angeles Litigation Practice.
Primary Focus & Experience
Mr. Marks has extensive experience representing issuers, directors and officers, investment banks, and accounting firms in securities litigation, corporate governance matters, mergers and acquisition litigation, internal investigations, and enforcement proceedings before the SEC. He has appeared in federal and state trial and appellate courts in California and throughout the country.
Mr. Marks has handled matters for numerous financial institutions, including: Credit Suisse Securities, Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Securities, JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, DLJ, and Cowen and Company. He also has represented large companies and their directors and officers in securities class action matters, including ARCO, Entropin, REMEC, and HPL Technologies.
Another part of Mr. Marks’s practice has been the representation of accounting firms in securities litigation and SEC enforcement proceedings, including Deloitte & Touche, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, and KPMG-UK.
Mr. Marks is a former law clerk to the Honorable Pamela Ann Rymer of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
