Dan Bartfeld is a partner in the New York office of Milbank LLP and is the Chair of the firm’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group (which has over 170 dedicated energy/infrastructure attorneys) and is a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee.

Mr. Bartfeld’s practice focuses on the representation of financial sponsors/portfolio companies, financial institutions, multinational companies and developers in a wide range of digital (data centers, GPUs, fiber and associated powered land), power (renewable/conventional), transportation infrastructure/logistics, LNG/midstream/shipping and energy-related matters in the US and globally.
Mr. Bartfeld has led the Milbank team in many of the largest and most high-profile energy/infrastructure matters globally. He has particular expertise in transactions throughout the capital structure, focusing on project development, financing and M&A activities (platforms and specified assets).
His recent representations include:
- a wide variety of digital infrastructure transactions (GPUs, data centers, powered land, towers, fiber, wireless), involving over $100 billion of capital costs since 2024.
- many of the most significant energy transition and power-related transactions (solar, wind, offshore wind, storage, hydro and conventional), as well as “behind-the-meter” powered land transactions around data center assets.
- a wide variety of M&A and acquisition financings in the energy transition, digital infrastructure, renewables, power, LNG/midstream and energy sectors.
- a wide range of LNG-related projects (including LNG-to-Power and associated vessels such as FSRUs and carriers).
- a wide variety of transportation infrastructure/logistics projects (airports, roads, ports, mass transit and water projects).
- a wide variety of “supply chain” focused natural resource/commodity transactions.
